The Volusia pagan community is made up of a number of caring individuals representing many different pagan groups locally and throughout all of Florida who have come together to create an event focused on the healing and well being of area residents. We have chosen to support the Pagan Pride Project because of its positive mission, and its welcoming inclusion of all members of the pagan lifestyle.
We support and embrace the four central tenets of the Pagan Pride Project:
Education - The principle of Education moves us to secure the right to practice our faith openly and freely by maintaining a program of public awareness. We strive to provide accurate information about our practices - what we do, and, just as importantly, what we don't do, and to combat the spread of misinformation and ignorance.
Activism - The priniciple of Activism encourages us to honorably act upon our convictions and to willingly sacrifice for our beliefs. It remindes us that we are empowered to live responsibly according to the mandates of our conscience without fear of discrimination or prejudice.
Charity - Understanding that our actions have direct and immediate impact, the principle of Charity drives us to offer compassion to those in need and helps us realize that by sharing our abundance with others we invite the universe to share its abundance with us.
Community - The principle of Community guides us to extend the hands of fellowship for mutual support and encouragement. By maintaining communal relationships we display strength through numbers and reduce the chance of being marginalized.
